Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode has claimed that Mr Godwin Emefiele, the embattled former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, is the "greatest sponsor of terrorism."
This was stated by the All Progressives Congress, APC chieftain in a tweet in response to the arrest of the suspended CBN governor.
Emefiele was apprehended by DSS operatives in Lagos on Saturday morning and flown to Abuja for questioning.
In response to the arrest, FFK expressed hope that the CBN's former boss would name those for whom he worked, claiming that Emefiele would not go down alone.
"I commend the DSS for their prompt action and professionalism," he wrote. This is yet another first for them, and it is a refreshing and encouraging display of heroism, bravery, and decisiveness by our new president's leadership.
"The DSS now has in its custody Nigeria's most ardent promoter of secession, a heartless crook and bloodthirsty and sadistic war criminal, and a man who attempted to subvert the democratic process on the orders of his co-conspirators and sponsors."
"I have no doubt that once the interrogation begins, he will spill the beans and name many names." He will not perish alone: those for whom he worked and fronted will perish alongside him."
